The CHILD Cancer Fund is a non-profit organization dedicated to assisting children and their
families through the challenges of a childhood cancer diagnosis and treatment.
It was established in 1994 by a group of Jacksonville parents whose children were receiving
treatment for Cancer at Wolfson Children's Hospital and Nemours Children's Clinic. The fund
was established to assist other families in the Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia area
whose children were treated at Wolfson and Nemours.
This grass roots organization raised funds to provide Nemours Children's Clinic with a financial
grant to secure the position of a Child Life Specialist and to provide financial assistance to the
parents of children battling cancer. The CHILD Cancer Fund is an organization by families for families
who face the challenges of a cancer diagnosis. We strive to help children live a more normal life.
Qualifications Guidelines:
The CHILD Cancer Fund serves those families whose children have been diagnosed with cancer
and who are receiving treatment at Wolfson Children's Hospital and/or Nemours Children's Clinic.
Privacy Statement
Employees, volunteers and members of the Board of Directors are expected to maintain confidentiality
pertaining to all programs, participants and donors. COnfidential information includes, but is not
limited to, identities of children and their families, their illnesses and other background information.
Medical information is expressly protected by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act
(HIPAA) and our program administrators have been trained to assure compliance with all HIPAA laws.
Additionally, CHILD Cancer Fund does not solicit contributions by telephone. CHILD Cancer Fund will
never sell or share information regarding donors and sponsors. This information is protected and used
singularly by CHILD Cancer Fund to contact donors and sponsors.
